The Animal Control Department serves the citizens of Framingham as a division of Public Safety. More than 2,700 calls and complaints are fielded annually by this small department.
Two full-time and two part-time Animal Control Officers provide services to the City of Framingham seven days a week, 365 days a year. Furthermore, officers remain on call after hours to respond to emergencies.
Animal Control Officers:
Perform regular patrols, call responses, and administrative tasks
Enforce both state and local by-laws as they pertain to animals
Pursue court complaints when necessary in order to ensure compliance with the laws
Provide daily necessary care for animals held in the department’s custody
In addition to their regular duties, Animal Control Officers also act as Animal Inspectors.
