Bioxide Use
Bioxide is an agent used to reduce sulfides within the wastewater system. It is added into the system through wastewater pumping stations to gain the maximum advantage of its useful life.
Preventative Maintenance
Sulfide reduction is mandated by the MWRA as this will reduce deterioration within a wastewater system. The Wastewater Department also conducts a preventative maintenance program in high sulfide areas to further reduce sulfide levels.
