Mission Statement
The Legal Department represents the City, City officials and City employees in legal transactions, Court and administrative proceedings. Our mission is to deliver highly skilled and effective legal representation and advice to the City, its elected and appointed officials, City Council, City Divisions, Boards, Committees and Commissions, and to provide training, information and assistance on current and evolving areas of municipal law, provide legal assistance and opinions to assist City officials, employees and members of the City’s public bodies in their work on behalf of the City, and to zealously represent the City, its officials, employees, and public bodies in cases, claims and proceedings filed against and on behalf of the City.
