City Council Subcommittee Assignments 2024-2025

District 4 City Councilor (Precincts 16, 17, 18)

Michael P. Cannon is currently serving his fourth term on the Framingham City Council, a role he has held since Framingham became a City on January 1, 2018. He has served on the Economic Development & Housing Subcommittee as Chair, the Finance Subcommittee as Vice Chair, and has been a member of the Appointments Subcommittee, and the Planning & Zoning Subcommittees at various points in his tenure. He has also served on multiple ad-hoc committees and task forces, including one focused on protecting the future of the Callahan Center for the exclusive use by the senior community.
 
Councilor Cannon is actively involved in issues and organizations which focus on supporting small business, broader economic development, seniors, veterans, the arts, animal welfare, parks and open space, education, as well as food insecurity and hunger.
 
In the community’s previous form of government, Cannon served on the town’s Finance Committee, the Capital Budget Committee, was the Finance Committee liaison to KeefeTech, was a member of various ad-hoc committees, was an active Town Meeting member, and was a member of multiple Town Meeting Standing Committees.
 
The principal owner of multiple businesses, Michael served for several years as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in New England; a member of the Museum Council Steering Committee of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; has been actively involved with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Danforth Art Alliance for the Danforth Art Museum and School; and is actively involved with countless other local organizations supporting the Framingham community.
