Recycling Drop-Off Center
Overview
The Framingham Recycling Drop-off Center (RDC) at 255 Mount Wayte Avenue is a drop-off facility for excess trash, recycling, and hazardous waste.
The RDC is accessible to permitted residents and businesses only.
The RDC processes transactions in CASH or CHECK only.
Please note that the Recycling Drop-off Center is closed on holidays.

Usage:
- All vehicles entering the Recycling Center must have a valid waste disposal permit.
- All customers must stop at the information shack upon entering the facility.
- Commercial vehicles are not permitted to dispose of trash.
- All Massachusetts Waste Ban materials must be handled properly and are not permitted in the trash.
- This facility does not accept construction/demolition waste (lumber, tile, concrete, windows, etc.).
- Permit holders must be safe and courteous while using the facility.
Permits:
- As of May 20, 2020, all permits are valid on a fiscal year schedule: July 1-June 30th.
- Permits are available to Framingham residents who have City curbside trash and recycling service and Framingham businesses only.
- A current vehicle registration is the only acceptable proof of residency for permit application.
- The permit is void if a resident’s eligibility status changes during the permit term.
- Permits are non-transferable to other residents.
The City of Framingham reserves the right to revoke a permit at any time for violation of facility policies/guidelines.
Obtaining a Permit
Permits can be purchased at the Recycling Drop-Off Center during normal business hours or at 100 Western Avenue, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Applicants must provide proof of Framingham residency (current registration or proof of insurance) at the time of purchase and allow the attendant to make a copy. The documentation must be current, non-commercial, and show a Framingham address.
- Pay the $20 fee in cash or by check.
- Allow the attendant to place the permit sticker on the lower driver-side windshield.
Non-Conforming Vehicle Permit
Residents whose vehicles do not meet the eligibility requirements may complete a non-conforming vehicle application form for permit consideration. Sanitation administration may issue a non-conforming vehicle permit at its discretion.
It takes approximately 10 business days to process a non-conforming vehicle permit application.
Permit replacement:
If you are replacing a windshield or buying a new vehicle, you may obtain a new permit by scraping off and presenting the existing permit sticker. The sticker must be intact, and the numbers must be legible.
Permit receipts will not be accepted for permit transference.
Fees:
Residential permit: $20/year
Business permit: $50/year
All users must pay a per-item fee to dispose of the following:
- Carpeting 4x6ft +
- Bulky soft goods
- Freon-containing items (ACs/refrigerators/freezers/dehumidifiers)
- Propane tanks
- Sleeper sofas
- Television/computer monitors
- Tires
- Mattresses
All permit and disposal fees are subject to change.
Refunds will not be granted under any circumstances.
