In 2000, the city adopted mixed use regulations (Special Regulation, Section IV.N "Mixed Use Regulations") which introduces mixed-use development in the downtown area.
Purpose
Mixed-use allows the redevelopment of commercial properties to include residential and commercial uses in 1 area.
Residential use will bring much needed vitality and consumer demands that require a better market mix than is currently seen in downtown Framingham.
Projects
Three mixed-use projects have been completed downtown:
- Dennison Triangle (76 condominiums)
- Kendall Building (25 apartments)
- Amsden Building (24 apartments)
