FOR AGES 55+ -- War, Diplomacy and the Creation of an American Empire -- In the aftermath of the Civil War, the United States rebuilt, recovered, and became a leading economic and industrial power. By the end of the 19th century, the US also emerged as an important player in global politics. Presenter Paolo Di Gregorio will look at the expansion of American influence on the world stage. Di Gregorio is an historian, archaeologist and educator with a passion for telling the stories of our past. He is a Visiting Lecturer in the History Dept. at Bridgewater State and an instructor in the Anthropology and History Departments at Wheaton College.
