Massachusetts Governor Appoints Framingham Police Chief To Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission
FRAMINGHAM – Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has appointed Framingham Police Chief Lester Baker to the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission.
The POST Commission was established as part of the criminal justice reform in 2020, after the murder of George Floyd in Minnesota. Its mission is to improve policing and enhance public confidence in law enforcement by implementing a fair process for mandatory certification, discipline, and training for all peace officers in the Commonwealth.
Baker has served as Framingham’s chief of police since late 2020.
Baker served as the Deputy Chief in charge of operations prior to becoming Chief. He was a Lieutenant from 2014-2018, Sergeant from 2008-2014, and Patrolman from 2003-2008. Baker transferred from the Lexington, Police Department as a patrolman in 2003 where he had worked since 1996.
