OVERVIEW

The program established Lead and Assistant Stewards for each of the 6 largest parcels of conservation land in Framingham:

Stewards are responsible for monitoring the trails and surrounding land, and promoting improvements, as needed. The program also established several opportunities for policy-oriented volunteer options.

LEAD & ASSISTANT STEWARDS (FIELD WORK)

  • Adopt an individual parcel of conservation land
  • Act as the eyes and ears of the commission
  • Note management needs and opportunities
  • Assist with planning work days (for trail clearing, new trails, cleanups, etc.)

COORDINATORS OF STEWARDSHIP ACTIVITIES (EMAIL WORK)

  • Notify volunteer network of upcoming work days
  • Help potential volunteers connect with on-going efforts or identify new conservation projects
