Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (EDIC)

Our Role

The 7-member Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (EDIC) works with the City to plan for and carry out economic development where it is most critically needed. The committee encourages investment that will in turn attract other investments and ultimately enhance long-term economic vitality and improve the quality of life for residents and the climate for businesses. Current economic development plans include working with town officials to encourage the improvement of underdeveloped downtown properties, supporting small business development, and working with the Chamber of Commerce to further the goals of downtown businesses.

About EDIC

EDIC is a quasi-public entity established by a municipality either through Chapter 121C of the Massachusetts General Law or through a Special Act of the legislature through Home Rule Petition. The Framingham EDIC was established by Chapter 124 of the Acts of 1995.
