A variety of financial assistance programs and related resources are available for residents facing challenges with utility bill costs. Please visit the links below to learn more about available programs and eligibility requirements:

Eversource LogoEversource Payment Plans and AssistanceEversource offers income-based assistance and other programs to support customers. These include offers such as discounted utility rates as well as payment plans such as the New Start program and payment plans.

SMOC Logo
South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) Energy and Financial Assistance: In addition to a variety of other services that they offer, SMOC provides a variety of income-based assistance programs to improve energy affordability for residents. Visit their website to learn more about programs such as fuel assistance, weatherization programs, and the Heating Emergency Assistance Retrofit Task Weatherization Assistance Program.

Framingham Housing Rehabilitation Program: The Community Development Department offers the Housing Rehabilitation Assistance Program to eligible households and individuals. This program assists low- and moderate-income homeowners in Framingham with emergency home refurbishments that can include HVAC energy upgrades.

Solar Para Todos Image

Community solar allows you to receive economic benefit from solar energy without having to dedicate space on your roof or requiring you to take on up-front costs of installing solar panels. By subscribing to a community solar project, you can receive discounts on your electricity bill. Learn more about how community solar works from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center

Eligible Framingham residents may have an opportunity to participate in the Solar Para Todos Program offered by Mass Energize and get up to a 25% discount on solar credits they purchase. Learn more about the Solar Para Todos Program and determine your eligibility here.

No-Cost Home Energy Assessment 

Renters, owners and landlords of single-family homes, apartments or condos in buildings with 1-4 units can save energy and money, starting with a no-cost Home Energy Assessment.

Income Eligible Program

If you live in a single family home or 2-4 unit building and qualify as low-income, you may be eligible for energy-saving upgrades that can lower your energy bills and improve home comfort at no cost. Property owners may also be eligible based on their, or theirs tenants’ income.

High-Efficiency Heating and Cooling Upgrades

Owners of single-family homes, apartments and condos in 1-4 unit buildings may be eligible for rebates to upgrade to high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment.

Multi-Family Energy Assessments

Property owners or managers of residential buildings with more than 5 units can request a Mass Save Multi-Family Energy Assessment at no cost. The rebates and incentives available for energy efficiency upgrades can increase property value and reduce operating costs.
