  4. "History in the Stitches: Framingham Fashion Through the Centuries" Exhibit

    May 20, 2017, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Set against a backdrop of Framingham images and artifacts, this exhibit features fashions that will both please the eye and illuminate the lives of some very special Framingham women. We’ve chosen pieces that reflect the social mores, economic status and the personalities behind the ever-present decision we all face daily - what to wear? Did you know that you can read clothing like any other historical document? It’s simply a matter of understanding the language. We’ll illustrate this language as you compare the ethereal wedding dress worn by Anna Foster Haven in 1824 with the austere gown worn by the devout Mrs. Temple on her wedding day in 1772. We’ve set the stage for you to experience the intimate setting of an 1880s salon where Framingham women entertained their closest friends adhering to the international trends that dictated appropriate dress and décor.

  5. Patron's Party

    May 20, 2017, 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM

This house is made for parties! This spectacular mansion built between 1832-1850 is perfect for the Framingham History Center's Patron’s Party with its elegant first floor rooms and large flagstone terrace. This is the home of a former owner of the Boston Braves and many of the ballplayers dined at lavish parties overlooking the reservoir. Don’t miss a chance to experience yet another rollicking event at this Framingham landmark. Cocktails and hor d'oeuvres at 6:00pm followed by dinner at 7pm. House Tour tickets are included with purchase of Patron's Party tickets. This event and the House Tour are the Framingham History Center’s largest fundraiser and all proceeds benefit our operations in support of our FHC’s mission. We are a non-profit 501c3 organization. We are not funded by the Town of Framingham and we are dependent on your participation in events like this, membership dues, donations and bequests. Thank you.
