Framingham Community Electricity Launches in March 2025!

FCE - Coming in March Banner

Framingham's official electricity supply program, Framingham Community Electricity, is coming online in 2025. Through this program, the City has utilized the community's collective buying power to increase the amount of renewable electricity in the community’s electricity supply as well as provide stable and competitive pricing. The program will provide three electricity supply options to residents to choose from with a standard option that provides more energy from renewable sources in the New England region:

The steps below can help you prepare for the launch of the program and the automatic enrollment process:

  • Eversource will never knock on your door or call you to talk about your electric bill.
Only provide your Eversource account number if you are ready to change your electricity supplier. For information on official program details and contact information, please check this page or the official aggregation program site below!

  • Visit FraminghamCommunityElectricity.com for more information about the launch timeline, program options, as well as upcoming communications and informational sessions.
  • Have questions? Email support@FraminghamCommunityElectricity.com or 1-844-202-6226 to connect with Program Customer Support. You can also contact the City at FCE@FraminghamMA.gov.
  • Download the 2-Page Program Overview to learn about the program, your choices, and upcoming changes to your electric bill.
  • Check to see if you have a private electricity supply contract or have placed a hold on your electric account with Eversource - these may prevent you from being automatically enrolled in the program.
  • Learn about other ways to improve your energy sustainability and lower your energy costs in the Additional Resources section.

📄 About the Program

The City of Framingham is pleased to announce the Framingham Community Electricity program, a municipal electricity aggregation, which is a type of group electricity purchasing program for Framingham residents and businesses.

Through Framingham Community Electricity, the City uses the community's collective buying power to increase the amount of renewable electricity in the community’s electricity supply. The program provides:

  • More renewable energy at a lower cost than Eversource
  • Three new electricity supply choices
  • Stable and consistent pricing over a two-year contract

Once Framingham Community Electricity launches in March 2025, Eversource will continue to deliver electricity to Framingham without interruption, and Framingham Community Electricity will not replace Eversource as the City’s electric utility. Rather, the program will be integrated into the Eversource bill, changing the price used to calculate the Supply charge from Eversource’s Basic Service price to a Framingham price.

Visit FraminghamCommunityElectricity.com for more details about the program. More information about the program's structure and approval process can also be found below:
