Framingham, MA – Recently TJX and Sanofi Genzyme announced layoffs at their Framingham locations. As corporate citizens, both companies have contributed to Framingham’s community fabric. The planned layoffs are disappointing; however we recognize the need for our corporate partners to operate efficiently in rapidly changing markets.
TJX is a leading apparel and home fashion retailer in the United States and worldwide and has been recognized as a retailer poised for success in the new retail environment. TJX has made a long-term commitment to Framingham, having purchased their headquarters here a few years ago.
Sanofi Genzyme is a leader in life sciences, focusing on the development of the treatment for rare diseases. According to media sources, Sanofi Genzyme has indicated that it is investing more than $300 million into the Framingham facility and technology; streamlining its processes and adjusting staffing levels. Sanofi Genzyme has expressed its commitment to the City of Framingham.
“Moving forward, we look forward to working with TJX and Sanofi Genzyme supporting their future growth and success,” said Mayor Yvonne M. Spicer.
