Framingham, MA – On Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Massachusetts State House, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s (MassDEP) Drinking Water Program recognized the Framingham Public Works Water Division for its outstanding performance in 2017.
Framingham’s award comes in the Consecutive System category of the 2018 Public Water System Awards Program. The Water Division accepted this award for the second year in a row.
“MassDEP realizes that it is no easy task to keep up with the ever-evolving federal and state drinking water regulations. While most systems strive just to comply with the regulations, your system has put forth an extra effort for many years,” stated Yvette dePeiza, MassDEP Program Director for the Drinking Water Program in the award letter to the City.
Blake Lukis, Director of Water and Wastewater accepted the award on behalf of the City. “This accomplishment is only possible as a result of the extraordinary work performed by the men and women of the department. Providing quality water and service to the City of Framingham is our number one priority and is exemplified in this achievement.” said Lukis.
