2018 Team Framingham Boston Marathon Applications Now Available

Assistant Town Manager Jim Duane and Team Framingham Steering Committee Chair Jenifer Feaster today announced that applications for the 2018 Team Framingham program are now available on the town website.

The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A) provides the Town of Framingham with 20 - 25 invitational Boston Marathon entries due to our "host community" status. In 2014, the Team Framingham program was established with two major goals:

  • Provide town residents and town and school employees with an opportunity to participate in the Boston Marathon via one of these invitational entries
  • Provide locally based charities with an opportunity to benefit from fundraising associated with the invitational entries.

“Since inception, the Team Framingham Boston Marathon program has been extraordinarily successful.  88 runners have completed the 26.2 mile Boston Marathon, raising more than $268,000 for local charities.  We expect a high level of interest in the community and among town employees for a coveted invitational entry for the 2018 Boston Marathon,” Feaster stated.

Applications for runners interested in participating in the random selection for these invitational entries are available on the Town of Framingham website through the link below or at the Board of Selectmen Office in the Memorial Building.  We will begin accepting applications on Monday, October 2, 2017 with a deadline for submission on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 4:00 pm. Team Framingham applications can be found online:

The random selection will take place on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Ablondi Room at the Framingham Town Hall.  It will be open to the public.

Submissions of completed applications can be made via email to or by drop off or US mail to the Board of Selectmen, Marathon Bibs, 150 Concord St., Memorial Building, Framingham, MA 01702.

The Framingham Board of Selectmen appointed the following six residents to the 2018 Team Framingham Steering Committee to oversee and manage the 2018 program, training and fundraising:  Michael Bower, Michael Cannon, Jenifer Feaster, Stuart Hurowitz, Chris Kelley, and Ed Stoll.
